A Woman’s Right

Men and women are different when it comes to sex because they think different. Women want to have sex because they want to feel the emotional bond, but men want to have sex because it is very pleasuring. Men seek sex in relationships but don’t want the commitment. Your STD risk is not by your loyalty but by your total number of partners in your lifetime. In the early days 97.5 percent have never had sex before they were married. It was said that if you wanted to have sex with a partner you would marry them. Now days 40 percent of boys have had sex with 4 girls in high school. God draws a line for us in the bible and says that practice free sex pay a high price, save sex for marriage earn great dividends. Women need the power to say NO and stand up for themselves.

            Women and men are different men think about what they want and what can satisfy their needs. While women want a relationship and share their emotions with them. Men almost would never neglect an opportunity to have sex while on the other had women would almost always turn it down. I think that the reason that people are hooking up more is because of the way we grow up. You can’t go anywhere and not see something that has to do with sex it is everywhere. I think that people should wait until they are married to have sex because that is the way God intended for it to be and it is known that sex is better when you are married because both partners have that emotional connection.

Myths of Sex

Studies have shown that in our society that we obsess with sex. It is not a sight a healthy society better yet it is a degraded one. We human are linked between animal’s bye two things eating and sex, but moral laws lift us up and above animals. Humans know the difference between good and evil so they should know that sex should be more than just physical connection. 85 percent of women and 75 percent of men are loyal to their husband and or their wife. A research shows that women from 18 to 59 have had only slept with 2 people in their life. For men 18 to 59 it would be 6 people. This is a median so the number would actually change with different age groups. The younger you go in age the higher the sex partners get but not by much. AIDS is likely to stay within the group that has already been infected. It is said that we are all equally at risk to get AIDS it doesn’t care who u are.

            In our society advertisers believe that sex sells so people are seeing it everywhere they go. I think that this is a huge reason why our society these days are so linked with sex, because they see it everywhere. Even though the number of sex partners isn’t that high for girls I think by the time I am 59 the number will be higher than it is now just because the way society is changing. AIDS will always be a problem because we still haven’t found a cure for it yet and people are still going to have sex. I’m not saying that the number will increase because people are learning more about safe sex, but I think it will always be around.

Better Boy Bamd?

Ok here it is who is the better boy band Backstreet Boys or *NSYNC? I no everyone does not like to admit that they use to jam some BSB or some *NSYNC because everyone use to do it. I have to admit that the Backstreet Boys had some songs that went hard back in the day. I think the Backstreet Boys are way better than *Nstink. BSB had so many more hits than *NSYNC had. I think outside of Justin Timberlake *NSYNC had no other good singers they were  all useless. The Backstreet Boys were just the best band to ever walk on the face of the earth.

PS3 or Xbox 360?

Here is the big question, do you perfer the PS3 or the Xbox 360? I personally like the PS3. It does everything that the xbox 360 does but more. For one the internet is free for the PS3. If i had a xbox 360 i would have to pay money just to get on the internet that i already for for. I think it is kind of dumb for a person to pay for internet use on a gaming system when they already have. The ps3 also has a really good blue ray player built into the system, can xbox say that? I didnt think so, these are just some few reasons why I think ps3 is better that xbox 360.

It's official

The Rangers lose out on the left-handed pitcher Cliff Lee. Cliff Lee will be taking his talents to Philly where hopefully he will suck and not win a game. He Lebroned us here in Texas. I think I would have respected Lee more if he went to the yankees because they offered him more money than us, but no he took less money and didnt come to Texas. He slapped all Texas Ranger fans in the face and said we were not good enough for him to play here. Thats ok because Texas doesnt allow cowards in our state for long. I hope we use all of the money we would have spent on him to get better talent and them beat the phillies in the word series next year and rub it in his face.

who would win Kobe or Lebron

Who would win in a game of 1 on 1 in basketball Kobe or Lebron? Kobe has the better shot that Lebron but Lebron can take anyone to the rim and score on them. Lebron also can play some solid D and is also a great rebounder. Kobe on the other hand is use to playing 1 on 5 because he never passes the ball. So i think this would be a great match. I think in the end Lebron would beat Kobe because he is bigger, faster, and stronger, o plus he can jump out of the gym.

which one is better

So me and my roommates were sitting here debating which movie is better Dumb and Dumber or Dumb and Dumberer? All of my roommates say that the first Dumb and Dumber is the better one. I on the other hand say that the second one Dumb and Dumberer is better than the origanal. I think the story line of the first one is better but i just think the second one is the funniest of them all.

Grading Scale

I noticed that utd has a differant grading scale than my old school that I went to. My old school was if you made an A you got a 4.0, if you made a B 3.0, if you made a C its a 2.0. Here at utd we use plus and minus system. I think this system is really good for the grade of a plus but they jew you when it comes to the minus. I dont think it is right to give a student below a 3.0 if they make a B minus. I think if a you get a B minus you should get a 3.0, if you make a B then it should be a 3.5, and if you make a B plus than you should get a 3.8 or 3.9.

College Football

Right now there is a lot of heat going around about Cam Newton. Should Cam Newton be able to recieve the heisman award? Should Cam Newton get the chance to play in the national championship? If you look back at what happened to Reggie Bush a few years ago this situation is a lot alike. Reggie Bush was stripped of his heisman trophy and his team was stripped of their national championship. So why would people allow this to happen again when in a few years when all the evidence will come out? This takes away from the players who have done everything right that is also up for the heisman trophy. This also takes away from another team that does not have a player that could be ruled ineligable for playing in the title game. I think they should have took action that way the samething doesnt happen this year like it did a few years ago.

Family Guy

So i was watching the family guy christmas specail last night. It was the one where Stewie wants to go to the north pole and tries to kill Santa. I was watching this and wondering if they will catch a lot of mess for some of the stuff that was in it. This family guy had a lot of bad things in it they had a B and E which is breaking and entering and a murder scene. I no they cuaght a lot of mess for the show that had Brian eat all the poop out of Stewies diaper. I didnt think that was a very big deal at all, but i also thought this show just played was ok as well. I just no that they will catch a lot of nonsense over this. I think it was a bit much for regular tv but if this would have been on cable then it would have been a little better. I brings me to my next thought, why is it ok for things to be played on cable but not for regular tv?

Cyborgs

Do you think as humans that we could perhaps in the future turn into Cyborgs? Is it possible for doctors to come up with the technology for this to take place? If so what would the doctors come up with and how would it affect us as humans if this were to happen? I personally do not see this happening but if it were to happen I think it would be pretty cool. Just the thought of having the technology to replace anything on a person’s body would be too legit. For instance if someone were to get into a car crash and lost their legs the doctor could replace it with these robotic legs and could give that person a second chance. Also with these procedures it would expand the people’s lives and maybe ever keep people alive forever. This could be a good or bad idea depending on the way you look at it. It could be good because I will live forever and who doesn’t want to do that, everyone wants to know what the future would be like and this could possibly be the only way it could happen. But on the other side it could be bad because the world could get way too populated and we could run out of everything. There is also another reason to why it could be a bad thing because in the movie there was a character that worked for the secrete agency and she was a Cyborg. In one part of the movie she felt like she didn’t belong because she was pretty much a robot, and everyone else was a normal person. She felt like she would never be real and fit in. Her brain was organic and she could do anything like super good vision and even go invisible. There are both positives and negatives about what could be in the future, what do you think about it?

Movie Critic

Movie Critic

Robert Ebert once said “most people do not consciously watch movies.” I believe that this means that people don’t think about the movie that they are watching, but get caught up into the idea that it is really happening. When a movie critic goes to watch a movie they don’t go to watch it for enjoyment but for their job. So they are consciously watching it and can’t get into the movie because the critic has to do their job and bash every little thing that isn’t perfect. I know this is their job but movies are something that people go watch for entertainment. I do not believe that someone has to go out and watch the movie before me and tell me if something is good or not. I have my own taste in movies, he may like a movie (but movie critics usually do not like anything kind of movie) that I just might find is terrible. What usually happens is that the movie critic does not like a movie and I happen to think it was the best movie that I have ever seen. 

            I think a movie critic should be more open minded and think about everyone else’s point of view and opinion. I also think a movie critic should be more open minded and like all different kinds of movies. A movie critic should not say a movie is bad just because they don’t like that kind of movies. For example if a critic really likes war movies but has to go watch a family movie I don’t think it would be in their best interest to say the family movies is no good just because he only likes war movies. The same thing about the types of movies applies towards the types of actors and or actresses that are in the movie.

            I also do not think it is fair for the director to get a bad rap just because a movie critic does not like his work. A movie critic will also judge movies just by who the director is of the movie. A director might have a bad movie every now and then but they shouldn’t be labeled as a bad director for a bad movie.

            I also do not think that it is fair for some of the movies because a lot of the time a movie critic will watch the new movies all in one day. I think a critic will get tired during the day after watching a few movies back to back and not keep up with what is going on in the movie. A critic should space these movies and then go in and evaluate the movies this way every movies has a fair chance and it’s not in the hands of a tired worn out movie critic, because I know a critic’s job is both mentally and physically tiring.

Cops

I was sitting here watching cops and I was wondering why do we like watching shows like this? Why would we want to watch people get pulled over and taken to jail? And who do you root for when your watching cops? I think the reason we like watching cops is because it is pretty action packed and us as humans love action. I dont think we really like watching people go to jail but i think we like to watch the reason they are going to jail and laugh about how dumb people can be. Even with that said I find myself rooting for the bad guys like they are going to get away or something. I also like how they act real tough at the begining but once they finailly get cought they change their mood or blame it on someone else. Its funny how the way people act in these shows.

Rangers

What should the Rangers do? Should they just let Cliff Lee go and try to get Zach Greinke from the Royals and sign another free agent? I no the Rangers really want Cliff Lee but is he asking to much money and to long of a contract for how old he is? I think that the Ranger should get Cliff Lee because he brings leadership to the club house. I also think Cliff has about 3 to 4 really good years left in the tank. The remaining years on his contract could be used to help our young pitchers. I also think the Rangers should trade some top prospects to get the Cy Young award winning Zach Greinke. If the Rangers could get both of these pitchers I think we will then become the best team in all of baseball.

My Artifact

            No other online gaming network can compare to the X-box live. X-box live is a network that is only functional if the person owns an X-box. If you have an X-box you then have to set up an account with X-box and then pay a fee that will allow you to join in on the online activities. When you go to pick out how long you want your membership to last they offer a wide variety of different monthly packages. If you are uncertain whether you would in joy playing online you can just buy a month membership. Once your membership runs out you can always renew your membership. Once you get all set up the first thing anyone should buy is a mic. The mic allows you to talk to everyone else while you are playing the game. Playing with a mic could be used for talking strategy with the other members on your team. But most of the time it is not used for that but rather for insulting others. I have not found out why people do this but I picked this artifact so I can study this behavior.

X-box live allows people to play other people from all over the word in many deferent types of games.  The games consist of a wide variety of genres from sports to action and of course the most popular war games. I think playing online has its pros and cons. I like how you get to play against other people instead of just playing the computer or even just a friend at the game all the time. This gives people the opportunity to meet new people and inter act with people from different parts of the word.

The reason why I think we should study this is because a huge part of our population is into the online gaming. It has gotten so big that you can even join clans which are just like a team but it is used for that certain game you are playing. The online gaming has got so big that they now have huge tournaments where your clan can win big money. I think that online gaming will only get bigger in the future and get more serious and more competitive. I also think we need to study this because of how fast this is growing in our culture.

Now it’s starting to get around to little kids and even to older adults. This is even affecting people’s lives because some people are so addicted that they don’t find the time to do anything else. I know some people that do not do anything all day and all night but play games on X-box live. I think that this could eventually hurt are youth if they get addicted to playing these games. I want research this and find out if there is anything about video games affecting are youth.

Relationship

Women still want a relationship

            It is concluded that college students are still “hooking up, hanging out and hoping for Mr. Right”. This happened even when your parents were in college. Each generation seems to do exactly what their parents do. Girls hook up with guys because it makes them “desirable” but yet it also makes them feel “awkward”. Women don’t know what to do after they “hook up” with a guy because they don’t know if they are a couple or not. Girls get an emotional connection with a man while the guy could have no emotional connection when they have had a physical connection. In the 1970’s this wasn’t a problem because you were in a relationship when you had a physical connection with someone else. But even now what women want the most is a relationship and or to be married. Eighty three percent of women say that being married is a very important goal for them. Sixty three percent agree that they want to find their husband while they are in college. 

            I am not surprised that women still want a relationship, but more and more girls are “hooking up” with other guys. I think that girls hook up with a guy because they think that they could possibly start a relationship with them. But a lot of college guys aren’t looking for a relationship when they know that another girl could possibly hang out with them. In our society people are more prone to become sexually active at a younger age then we were 20 years ago. So I could see how girls are hooking up with guys, but I also see how women want to be in a relationship because they want to share that emotional connection.

Brett Farve

Brett Farve is on the verge of ending his record of consecetive starts which is up to 297 as of now. Since the football game has been moved to Monday this gives him a chance to keep the streak alive. He told reporters that there wasnt a chance for him to play on Sunday but with an extra day of rest we will see if he can make 298 straight starts.

Memory

            While covering the subject Memory we talked about false memories, I did not know that

we could have false memories. I thought that all of our memories were real and that they really

happened. The process of calling up a memory and changing it and saving it the way you

changed it is called constructive processing. I never knew that such a thing could take place, that

you could actually change bits and pieces or even the whole memory. But the thing that I had a

hard time believing the most is that you could have memories that have never even happened to

you, these memories are called pseudo memories. I couldn’t understand how you could believe

something happened when in reality it never did. But if someone keeps telling you that it

happened you start to think that it really did happen. Your brain is telling you that it didn’t

happen but you are telling yourself that it had to happen; so then you could start even putting in

your own input into the story or memory.

Sleep

SLEEP

            Much more is going on while sleeping than most expect. There are two different kinds of sleep that I did not know about. I thought that the body was just tired and that is why we went to sleep, but it’s much more than that. The first is REM which stands for rapid eye movement, and the second is NREM which stands for non rapid eye movement. I had no idea that there was such a thing but now that I know it all makes sense. Whenever you are asleep the REM controls the psychological restoration. The REM sleep is also where most of your dreams happen. The NREM controls physical restoration, and this is where all the deep sleep happens. I always thought sleep was just sleep and that was is it. I had no idea that things were controlling different parts of the body while you are asleep.

John Wayne

John Wayne was born on May 26, 1907- June 11, 1979 in Winterset Iowa. As a child he moved twice once to Palmdale and then to Glendale California in 1911. He got the nickname “Duke” from local Fireman because he would go anywhere without his dog which was also named duke. As a young adult he started working in an ice cream shop. Played football for state championship team in high school, also played for USC. He got hurt while body surfing and they pulled is scholarship and because of that he had to leave the University. He then began working at the local film studio. Like others he had to work his way up the ladder to get his first role. He got his foot in the door by trading football tickets to be part of the prop department. He then went to bit roles. Then he got his shot when he took the starring role in “The Big Trial” this is that start of the John Wayne era. It was a flop but his first big budget outdoor film. His break through film was called “Stagecoach”. This would lead to about 20 more films with this producer John Ford. John Wayne was also a producer and a director as well.  People say that “The Searchers” is his best movie made because of how complex it was. He would be nominated for best director for the “The Alamo” 1 of 2 films he directed. His last film would be “The Shootist” he would die 3 years later. He was one of the best to ever take the screen. In a Harris poll released in 2009 he finished 3^rd in America’s favorite movie star of all time. He is the only person who has been on the list by making it every year since 1994.

Cool Hunting Cycle

The hunting cycle is quit complicated. Advertisers are always trying to find out what is “in” at that point of time, and they will almost do anything to figure it out. But the hard thing about this is getting teenagers to tell them what is “in”. The cool hunters interview teenagers to get the inside scoop on what is “cool”, but as soon as they find out what is “cool” teenagers seem to find something else that is “cool”. So if seems like as soon as the cool hunter’s finds out what’s cool they have to start the process all over again. A mook is a fictional character that is loud and in your face, they are normally on a tv show to keep you watching it. A midriff is someone that shows off their body and thinks that they always have to look good to be successful. The feedback loop is where corporation will let teenagers pick what will happen next. They do this so they can stay informed with what’s “in” and plus to keep the ratings up. An example of this is MTV they do this all the time by letting the people pick what they will play next. Yes I do believe that the youth have their own culture. You don’t see older adults wearing the same things that a teenager would wear or even do the same things. Some example are clothing lines, music, and entertainment.

            There are two different types of abortion D&X which is “dilation and extraction” and then there is D&E which is “dilation and evacuation. D&X is not as violent as D&E, D&X is where you “stab the child near the base of the skull, scramble its brains, then fully deliver the baby dead.” D&E is where the doctor would rip out one fully formed body part out at a time. D&E is a lot faster, cheaper, has a lower mortality rate, doesn’t cost as much, and doesn’t take a psychological toll on some women because it doesn’t imitate labor. D&X is a quarter to a half of all viable and or near viable abortions, while D&E takes care of all the rest of the abortions. When women had an abortion at 21 or more weeks pregnant 16.7out of 100,000 died. That’s two and a half times more than a childbirth which is 6.7 out of 100,000 deliveries.

            I think that people need to look into abortions more carefully and relies what they are actually doing. This is a huge problem that we have in the United States, and it looks like the rates are going up. I don’t believe that anyone should have to put a doctor though this as well as the unborn baby. But I don’t think there is a away to completely stop abortions unless they just banned it.
